Open car transport for practical, nationwide vehicle shipping

Vehicles are loaded onto an open trailer rather than inside a fully enclosed trailer. The vehicle remains exposed to normal outdoor conditions during transit, including weather, dust, and road debris. That tradeoff generally creates more capacity and route flexibility than enclosed equipment.

Open transport does not mean that every vehicle or pickup site is automatically compatible. Ground clearance, overall height, width, weight, operability, aftermarket equipment, and access must still be considered before dispatch.

Open service is commonly selected for dealer inventory, personal vehicles, relocations, auction purchases, and routine fleet moves. It can be a strong fit when the vehicle has standard dimensions, can roll, brake, and steer, and does not require protection beyond normal carrier procedures.

If the vehicle is unusually valuable, extremely low, restored, confidential, or especially sensitive to outdoor exposure, discuss enclosed or specialized equipment before accepting an open-service quote.

Make sure the carrier can safely approach both locations. If a residential street has tight turns, low trees, weight restrictions, or no safe loading area, agree on a nearby legal meeting point. Remove loose personal property, secure accessories, provide working keys, and disclose leaks or mechanical issues.

At pickup, review the condition report and retain a copy of the bill of lading. At delivery, inspect the vehicle before signing when conditions allow, note any exception on the delivery document, and take clear photographs.
