How it works

From quote request to documented delivery

TFI Trans arranges the shipment as a broker. The selected independent motor carrier performs the physical pickup, transportation, and delivery.

  1. Pickup / origin

Pickup details and shipment records establish the origin of the lane.

  2. Shipment and equipment review

TFI reviews the shipment and coordinates the required equipment details.

  3. Independent motor carrier

A vetted independent motor carrier provides the truck, trailer, driver, and physical transportation.

  4. Delivery confirmation

Delivery confirmation and shipment documentation close the coordinated lane.

TFI reviews the shipment, coordinates an independent motor carrier, and documents pickup through delivery.
  1. 1

    Request a shipment review

Share the exact locations, vehicle, condition, equipment preference, and first available date.

  2. 2

    Review availability and terms

TFI evaluates the route and compatible carrier capacity, then presents the shipment details and pricing for confirmation.

  3. 3

    The motor carrier picks up

The selected independent motor carrier inspects, documents, loads, and physically transports the vehicle.

  4. 4

    Inspect at delivery

Review the vehicle and bill of lading at delivery, record any exception, and retain the shipment documents.

Confirmation checklist

Before you confirm a shipment

  • Confirm the legal name and regulated role of the company arranging transportation.
  • Review the origin, destination, vehicle, equipment, timing, price, and payment terms.
  • Retain the broker agreement, motor-carrier information, and pickup bill of lading.
  • Photograph the vehicle at both handoffs and document any exception before signing when possible.
