Electric vehicles use the same national transport network as other passenger vehicles, but accurate weight, clearance, operability, charging state, and shutdown or access information can materially affect loading and carrier fit. Provide the EV details that affect loading

The exact year, make, model, trim, operability, approximate state of charge, ground clearance, curb weight, modifications, and key or access method should be disclosed. A vehicle that powers on but cannot shift into neutral or roll as expected may need to be treated as inoperable for transport planning.

Follow the vehicle manufacturer's transport and towing guidance for that model. If the vehicle has warnings, battery damage, collision damage, fluid leakage, or a suspected high-voltage issue, disclose it immediately; ordinary auto-transport equipment may not be appropriate.

Choose open or enclosed service based on the shipment

Many production EVs can move on standard open equipment when dimensions, weight, clearance, and operability are compatible. Enclosed service may be selected for added protection, confidentiality, prototypes, high-value vehicles, or program requirements.

Low-clearance or heavy vehicles can reduce which positions or trailers are suitable. Providing accurate information before dispatch protects the schedule and reduces the risk of an incompatible carrier arriving at pickup.

Plan pickup and delivery access

Confirm that the vehicle has enough usable charge for inspection, loading, unloading, and positioning unless the assigned equipment and instructions specifically account for an inoperable unit. Make charging adapters, keys, cards, or digital access available when required, but do not leave unrelated personal items inside the vehicle.

Photograph the vehicle and displayed warnings at pickup, review the bill of lading, and inspect again at delivery. Any material change in condition should be documented before signing when possible.
